This is a list of links to sites that deal with various LGBT issues. Some of the sites are chosen specifically because their content or presentation might appeal to psychologists.
Alternative Family Institute (AFI)
AFI provides professional counseling, support groups, psychology research, training of mental health professionals, and media outreach regarding LGBT couple, family, and other relationship issues. AFI has offices in San Francisco and Oakland, and is a program of the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral programs of the California School of Professional Psychology.

APA Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns Office
This APA office, which has been in existence since 1975, liaisons with other APA activities dealing with gay, lesbian and bisexual issues, and functions in a number of other supportive ways.
APA Div 44
The Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Issues was founded in 1985 as a Division of the American Psychological Association to represent sexual orientation issues within and beyond the Association.
APA's Healthy Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Students Project
The mission is to strengthen the capacity of the nation's schools to prevent the behavioral health risks of lesbian, gay, and bisexual students through knowledge development, dissemination, and application, working with and through national organizations of school stakeholders.
Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists
The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists (AGLP) is a professional organization of psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, and medical students, which serves as a voice for the concerns of lesbians and gay men within the psychiatric community. The Association is committed to fostering a more accurate understanding of homosexuality, opposing discriminarory practices against gay men and lesbians, and promoting supportive, well-informed psychiatric care for lesbian and gay patients. The organization provides opportunities for affiliation and collaboration among psychiatrists who share these concerns.
BiNet
The mission of BiNet USA is to collect and distribute information regarding Bisexuality; to facilitate the development of Bisexual community and visibility; to work for the equal rights and liberation of Bisexuals and all oppressed peoples; and to eradicate all forms of oppression inside and outside the Bisexual community.
Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE)
The mission is to foster the growth of daughters and sons of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered parents by promoting education, support and community, advocating for family rights, and promoting acceptance and awareness that love makes a family.
Committee on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Concerns
The Committee on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns (CLGBC) (established 1980) is a six-person continuing committee reporting through the Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest to the Board of Directors and Council of Representatives. Information about the activities of CLGBC is available in its Annual Report published in January of each year.
Dignity/USA
Dignity/USA is the United States' largest and most progressive organization of gay, lesbian , bisexual and transgendered Catholics. They serve as a proactive voice for reform in the Church and society, including: same-sex marriages, women's ministry, AIDS ministry, and enforcement of anti-hate crime legislation.
Family Acceptance
This website was created by the parents of a young gay man to offer support, hope, and encouragement for other parents who may be encountering difficulties related to their child's sexual orientation.
Family Pride Coalition
The mission is to advance the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered parents and their families through mutual support, community collaboration, and public understanding.

Describes a number of scholarships available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered students.
GLSEN
The "Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network" works to end this cycle of bigotry in K-12 schools. Through its growing network of 85 chapters in 35 states, GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity

Human Rights Campaign
HRC is an American Politcal Organization to promote equal rights for gays and lesbians. They sponsor "National Coming Out Day" which is becoming increasingly visible. The HRC FamilyNet is devoted to the issues of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered families. Parenting issues are of special interest to FamilyNet visitors.
IGLSS
The institute for Gay and Lesbian Strategic Studies is a national independent public policy think tank in research and analysis on questions important to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered Americans.
The National Consortium of Directors of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Resources in Higher Education
The combined vision and mission on the Consortium is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Their goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers. Of special interest is the list of unversity-level support networks of GLBT faculty, students, & staff.
National Gay and Lesbian Taskforce
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is a leading progressive civil rights organization that has supported grassroots organizing and advocacy since 1973.
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
NIH has announced that it is committed to supporting research that will increase scientific understanding of the psychological and health status of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered individuals. Studies can be in the areas of basic, clinical, intervention, practice, and services research.
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian and Gays
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
Straight Spouse Network
Straight Spouse Network (SSN) is an international organization that provides personal, confidential support and information to heterosexual spouses/partners, current or former, of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender mates and mixed-orientation couples for constructively resolving coming-out problems. SSN also offers research-based information about spouse, couple, and family issues and resources to other family members, professionals, community organizations, and the public.
University LGBT Programs
A listing of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Queer Studies in the United States and Canada. It also lists Sibling Societies and Study-Abroad Programs. It is maintained by John Younger.
